Seeing and Hearing
One of the most important senses that humans have are sight and hearing. Without them it would be difficult to compete in a society and in many cases it would be quite dangerous. There are not many people who have no sight whatsoever or who do not hear anything at all. However, a majority of population have some hearing and vision loss. It can even occur at a younger age so it does not only concern seniors. As a matter of fact, I know many people that suffer from either vision or hearing problems. It is not such a big deal as long a person visits a doctor regularly. In our society it is not uncommon to for people to suffer from both vision and hearing loss. In such a case, the most convenient thing would be to have their vision and hearing checked at the same location. This can be possible if a doctor knows about PHSIMD and offers both hearing and vision services. Currently, the minority of doctors offer such services, but it would be quite convenient for patients to have their vision and hearing checked just by visiting the doctors office once. I wonder what is the percentage of population that suffers from hearing or vision problems.
