Since a water flow sensor detects the water flow, it starts heating it immediately. The water starts circulating through the heat exchanger, which means that it is being heated within a few seconds. That way a person can always have hot water without the risk that he or she might run out of hot water in the middle of a shower. After reading how it works, I am still wondering why people use conventional hot water tanks.
